Pathfinder General FAQ's

Q: How old are the children attending Pathfinder?
A: Children begin Pathfinder at age 3-5. All children must be toilet trained. The oldest group is 12 years old.
Q: How are children grouped?
A: The only co-ed group is the 3-4 year olds. All other groups are separated by age and gender. Each group has their own bunk to change for swim.
Q: Is the day for the very young children? Do they do the same activities as the older children?
A: The younger children do the same activities as the older children but off course, on a much smaller scale. Our older children have activities that are 40 minutes long. The younger children's activities will run 20 minutes.They will have additional activities that are more age appropriate such as sandbox play, bubbles, sprinklers, story time, etc...
Q: Do the children bring any sports equipment to camp?
A: Please leave all equipment at home. Personal equipment can get lost or misplaced.
Q: What should my child wear to camp?
A: Dress in comfortable clothes that can get dirty. Shorts, sneakers and sweatshirts on cool days.
Q: Does the camp provide lunch or snacks?
A: Parents send lunch Monday - Thursday. Friday's camp provides cooked lunch, hamburgers and kosher hot dogs
Q: What should I send my child for lunch?
A: Lunch should be sent in a brown paper bag with your child's name. A sandwich, piece of fruit and a simple snack are suggested. All lunches are refrigerated. Beverages are provided at camp.
Q: What should I send my child to camp with everyday?
A: Children should bring 2 bathing suits and 1 towel. Sandals can be worn to the pool instead of sneakers. Water shoes and goggles are permitted in the pool. Bathing suits should go home every day to be washed. All clothing should be labeled.
Q: Can my child go home on a different bus for a play date?
A: All play dates must be planned after camp. There is no bus switching.
Q: My child will be celebrating a birthday, can I send a cake to camp?
A: Parents are encouraged to send a cake, cup cakes or cookies on the bus with their child. If you wish to bring the goodies yourself, parents are always welcome!
Q: Will sunscreen be applied at camp?
A: Yes. Sunscreen is applied after every swim. The counselors are required to help those who need help. Please label it with your child’s name
Q: I would like to come to camp, meet the counselors, and spend time watching my child during camp. Is there a time during the day that’s best?
A: Parents are always welcome to visit camp. The recommended time is the afternoon, about 2pm. This gives the parent enough time to see their child in activity and chat with the counselors. This also allows the child and parent to leave together. Many children have difficulty watching their parents leave without them.
Q: The first day of camp? Back packs? T-Shirts?
A: Send your child’s belongings in a paper or plastic bag the first day of camp. The children will receive a Pathfinder back pack to transfer their belongings into. Children receive their t-shirts on picture day.
Q: What are the hours of camp?
A: The camp hours are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Q: Are there any food restrictions at camp?
A: Yes, Pathfinder is a peanut free/nut free camp. Please do not send peanut butter or any peanut/nut containing foods.
